Doodle Lover

I'm not that creative in naming things, so I am naming this blog after my wonderful dog. If you can think of something better, pass it my way. Otherwise, enjoy.

Whew

Thank goodness that Taylor Hicks won American Idol!!! I was very excited for him. Maybe it was because he was the oldest person ever to make it that far in the competition. Maybe it was because he has gray hair and he made it "cool". Maybe it was because no one in the past has won with that style of singing. Whatever it was, I was VERY happy with the results. I don't want to make it sound like I'm a TV or American Idol junkie. In fact, I have not watched American Idol until this season...but now I'm hooked. I wanted Chris Daughtry to win, and I was really shocked when Katherine McPhee beat him, but that's the way it goes I guess. Really, no one in the top 10 will have any problems finding someone to give them a record deal.

In addition to the American Idol thing, I was really disappointed by 24 on Monday night!! I was looking forward to a real, actual HAPPY ending. Guess they had to keep our interest piqued until next January. I gotta be honest though, I think by that time I will have forgotten what has happened since then!!! I know, I said I wasn't a TV junkie. There are just a couple shows that I really like. Now that they're both over for the year, I guess I'll have lots more time to do stuff around my soon-to-be house. Maybe actually get the bathroom and second bedroom/office into a shape that I'd actually find nice!!

That's about all I have for now...I am not so good with this blogging thing yet, but I'll get there...hopefully. Have a great day all!!

Ahhhhh....boredom

I know you're not supposed to blog at work, but what happens if that is the most productive thing that you can do at the time? I was swamped, but now that my business trip has passed, as have all the other events I had in April, I have very little to do. Thus the purpose of posting in the middle of the day. Should this keep up, I may have to keep doing it!

This past weekend was fun. On Friday Ryan and I did absolutely nothing...which was awesome considering the rest of the weekend we never stopped! Saturday morning was Laura's graduation, and then Saturday night was Lindsay and Mike's wedding! Good times (and free beer). Sunday of course was Mother's Day, so we had Ryan's family and Joe's family over to our house. It was a thoroughly enjoyable night until Ryan brought up to his mom that we are probably going to take our pictures all before the ceremony. She was NOT psyched about this. However, I feel like I do not want to miss 2 hours of my reception just for pictures. It seems to all go quite a bit smoother if all pictures are taken beforehand. Also, I am a nervous person when it comes to situations like weddings. I get very nervous...AS A BRIDESMAID!!! How am I not supposed to get nervous being the actual BRIDE?? So picture this: I am walking downt he aisle with my dad, which will be emotional. People are all looking at ME, which will be nerve-wracking. Then I'm supposed to be thinking, "Oh look, there's my fiance seeing me for the first time in my wedding dress!" Probably not. I would much rather have a private moment just the two of us before the ceremony. We're private people in that respect and I would enjoy the moment so much more if I can talk to him and touch him as soon as I see him. Does that make sense? Am I crazy? I know it's tradition, but plenty of people take pictures before the ceremony now, and I don't really think I believe that not seeing the bride before the ceremony makes or breaks a marriage. Anywho, that was an interesting conversation to have. Not real comfortable.

Well, there's my rant of the day. I'm really not that upset about it, but I always feel like I have to thoroughly explain my reasons for doing something a certain way on our wedding day.

P.S. Kudos to the unnamed pranksters who messed with Lindsay and Mike's wedding marquee. I never would've thought of that, and it was pretty funny. Guess that's what happens when free beer is involved!!

Welcome!

Thanks for stopping by my blog! I'll give an explanation of the name to start.

I LOVE my dog. He is a golden retriever/poodle mix, which is also known as a "Goldendoodle". Now, if I meet you and you ask of his breed, I will tell you he is a golden retriever/poodle mix because I think Goldendoodle is kind of silly. However, the word "doodle" seems to fit him. So, this blog is named for him! He is a great dog...nice to everyone and everything....even my parents new little puppy who bites him in not-so-nice places. So, here's to you Petey. And to the fact that I can't come up with a creative name like "Benchwarmers". Kudos to Laura B. on that one. Very creative.

So here's to my first official "blog". I hope you'll stop by and share your thoughts with me. I know that I read all of your blogs enough, so please stalk me as well! :) Happy weekend!
