I'm not that creative in naming things, so I am naming this blog after my wonderful dog. If you can think of something better, pass it my way. Otherwise, enjoy.

Ahhhhh....boredom

I know you're not supposed to blog at work, but what happens if that is the most productive thing that you can do at the time? I was swamped, but now that my business trip has passed, as have all the other events I had in April, I have very little to do. Thus the purpose of posting in the middle of the day. Should this keep up, I may have to keep doing it!

This past weekend was fun. On Friday Ryan and I did absolutely nothing...which was awesome considering the rest of the weekend we never stopped! Saturday morning was Laura's graduation, and then Saturday night was Lindsay and Mike's wedding! Good times (and free beer). Sunday of course was Mother's Day, so we had Ryan's family and Joe's family over to our house. It was a thoroughly enjoyable night until Ryan brought up to his mom that we are probably going to take our pictures all before the ceremony. She was NOT psyched about this. However, I feel like I do not want to miss 2 hours of my reception just for pictures. It seems to all go quite a bit smoother if all pictures are taken beforehand. Also, I am a nervous person when it comes to situations like weddings. I get very nervous...AS A BRIDESMAID!!! How am I not supposed to get nervous being the actual BRIDE?? So picture this: I am walking downt he aisle with my dad, which will be emotional. People are all looking at ME, which will be nerve-wracking. Then I'm supposed to be thinking, "Oh look, there's my fiance seeing me for the first time in my wedding dress!" Probably not. I would much rather have a private moment just the two of us before the ceremony. We're private people in that respect and I would enjoy the moment so much more if I can talk to him and touch him as soon as I see him. Does that make sense? Am I crazy? I know it's tradition, but plenty of people take pictures before the ceremony now, and I don't really think I believe that not seeing the bride before the ceremony makes or breaks a marriage. Anywho, that was an interesting conversation to have. Not real comfortable.

Well, there's my rant of the day. I'm really not that upset about it, but I always feel like I have to thoroughly explain my reasons for doing something a certain way on our wedding day.

P.S. Kudos to the unnamed pranksters who messed with Lindsay and Mike's wedding marquee. I never would've thought of that, and it was pretty funny. Guess that's what happens when free beer is involved!!

Definitely do your wedding how you want to. Tradition is awesome, but you only get to have a wedding once (you know, ideally), so do it the way you want. I know how everyone seemed to drive Robyn insane, telling her how she had to have her wedding. I was thinking "Um, excuse me, who is getting married? Care to let us decide?"

Congrats, enjoy, it's the best. It's so good to not have to go home at the end of the night, because you already ARE home. Not that it's easy, but it IS the best.

Also, part of the reason I'm leaving a comment is because I don't want to be labeled a "stalker"...
